From the Heiracle story letters — one true story per issue, told simply. Names and private details are always changed. That is a promise.
Ella and Mae grew up on the same street in Oregon. In grade school they wore matching hair ties. In high school they shared one pair of headphones. The year they finished college, one of them stayed, and the other moved three thousand miles away to Florida.
The first two years were fine. Then the video calls got shorter, and the check-ins started sounding like forms — "How have you been?" "Good. You?" Neither of them said the true thing out loud: best friends don't really walk away from each other. They just get diluted by the days.
This year, shopping for Mae's birthday, Ella stopped at a small amethyst — February's stone. Mae is a February girl. She looked at that little purple stone for a long while, and then remembered something. She herself is June. Moonstone.
She placed an order for two pairs. The moonstone went to Florida. The amethyst stayed in Oregon.
The note in the box was one line: "From today, I wear your month, and you wear mine."
Two weeks later Mae sent back a photo — standing in the Florida sun, a faint moon-white glint on her ear. The caption read: "They say titanium can stay in through sleep and showers. Good. I wasn't planning to take it off."
Ella told us it was the longest conversation they'd had in years. And later, her mom saw the earrings and asked for a pair of garnets — January. "Everyone," Ella said, "should wear somebody's month."

We believe jewelry does more than please its wearer — it holds what we cannot put down, and it is usually a good memory with someone. Those stories feel precious to us, and worth passing on. The pieces from this story wait quietly below, where they belong.
