Is the color change real?

Yes - and it is the whole point. Chromium inside the crystal absorbs different wavelengths under different light, so the same stone reads teal green in daylight and shifts to plum red under warm lamps or candlelight. It is not a coating or a filter; the change is a permanent property of the crystal itself.

Is lab-grown alexandrite real alexandrite?

Chemically, yes. Lab-grown alexandrite is chromium-bearing chrysoberyl - the same composition, the same 8.5 hardness, and the same color change as the mined stone. The only difference is that it grows in a controlled lab over weeks instead of underground over millennia, which is why it costs a fraction of mined alexandrite.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. The setting is solid 925 sterling silver with white gold (rhodium) plating and contains no nickel, so it stays gentle on sensitive skin for all-day wear.

How do I care for my ring?

Alexandrite is one of the rarest optical phenomena in gemology. The same crystal reads teal-green under daylight, then turns raspberry-purple under candlelight and warm indoor lamps. Nothing is coated, nothing is heated on demand — the change is written into the crystal itself.
