The Setting — design, metal, setting and finishing, quoted as one price. Made by hand at the bench. Never discounted — the maker keeps a fair margin, and we won't take it out of their hands.
Custom Story Rings
Our customer Amy shared her story with us — and it moved us to try this for the first time: turning your story into a ring that’s yours alone. Finished in as little as 4 days, at a price you can carry, and truly one of a kind. Scroll down to read the story behind this pair of rings.
A real commission: from one photograph, a pair of rings.
Amy didn’t come to us for a ring. She came to tell us about a cat and a dog.
They were her mother’s — there through the whole of Amy’s childhood, the kind of animals a family grows up around. They’re gone now, and Amy still feels the space they left. When she wrote to us, she wasn’t asking for anything at all. She only wanted to talk about how much she missed them.
Amy’s birthday and her mother’s were both close. Her mum’s is in June, and alexandrite — the June birthstone, and her favourite — shifts colour in the light, the way a memory does. It seemed to us that the two of them, mother and daughter, should each be able to carry these two small animals with them.
So we drew a pair of rings from the animals themselves — the cat and the dog, turned to face one another. For her mother, we set a lab-grown alexandrite between them. For Amy, the same design in silver, without the stone — just the two of them.
That was the very first one. It is the reason Heiracle makes story rings at all.

Story Ring — Custom Design Service
$20 · per design, credited to your ring
Order the kind of ring you’d like designed below — if you want more than one, order more than one. Then email hello@heiracle.com with your HC order number in the subject line, the story of the ring you want, and any reference images. We’ll finish your design within 24 hours and send it back for you to confirm.
Before you confirm the design we revise it until you’re happy; once you confirm, the fee is non-refundable — and it’s credited toward your ring’s balance, so it isn’t an extra cost.
Want the full picture first? See the detailed process below.
To have your story ring made, the first step is to order the design service. This fee supports the time our designer spends creating your design. Before you confirm the design, we revise it as many times as it takes until you're happy. Once you confirm the design, the fee is non-refundable — and it's credited toward your ring when you go ahead.
Once you've ordered the design service, email your story and any reference images to hello@heiracle.com. Put your HC order number in the subject line. In the message, tell us the design elements you'd like, the story behind them, the metal, your ring size, and — for a stone-set ring — the shape and weight of the stone (if you know it). Our designer sends back a rendered design within 24 hours for you to confirm.
Within 24 hours we reply by email with the design for your ring. If something isn't right, tell us and we adjust it.
Once you approve the design, we email you a quote, then a 30% deposit starts production. If we haven't begun making your ring, the deposit is refundable; once production has started, it isn't. The quote is an estimate — precious-metal cost, stone cost, the craftsman's fee for design, casting, cutting, polishing and setting, and the service fee. The final price can differ slightly, because a stone's real weight after cutting can vary a little. If it would run more than 10% over the estimate, we check with you first. More often than not, the price is a pleasant surprise rather than a shock.
We email photos and video of the actual finished ring, so you know exactly what's coming before you pay the rest.
When your ring is finished and you've confirmed from the photos and video that it's right, we send you an invoice for the balance. Once it's paid, we arrange shipping.

To measure, wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, lay it flat and read the length in millimetres. That length is the inside circumference. If you already own a ring that fits that finger, measure straight across the inside of the band instead — that is the inside diameter.
Fingers change through the day. They sit smaller in the morning and in the cold, and larger in the evening. Measure three times at different hours and use the reading you get most often. If you land between two sizes, take the larger one.
Put the size in the email with your story. If you are not sure, say so — we will confirm it with you by email before anything is made.
Every story ring is made for one person, so we can't resell it — custom orders aren't returnable or exchangeable for reasons other than quality.
That said, if anything is wrong we will work with you until it's right. We've never seen ourselves as a brand that serves a customer once; we intend to look after every customer for as long as they wear the ring.
How we price it
The Setting — design, metal, setting and finishing, quoted as one price. Made by hand at the bench. Never discounted — the maker keeps a fair margin, and we won't take it out of their hands.
The Stone — priced per carat. Estimated at quote, finalised on the actual cut weight. We send you the weigh-in photo.

No — the design is a paid service, $20 per ring (if you'd like more than one ring, order more than one). Before you confirm the design we revise it until you're happy; once you confirm the design, the fee is non-refundable, and it's credited toward your ring's balance when you go ahead.
After you approve the design, we send a quote. A 30% deposit starts production. If we haven't begun making your ring the deposit is refundable; once production has started it isn't — it's what commits the materials and the bench time.

A stone's real weight after cutting can vary a little, so the final price can shift slightly. If it would run more than 10% over the estimate, we ask you first. A design comes back within 24 hours. Making the ring takes as little as 4 days, and most commissions run 4–14 days depending on how intricate they are, plus shipping. Because every piece is made by hand, timing can sometimes run longer — a maker falling ill, a holiday. We'll always keep you posted in advance, and we ask for a little patience and understanding: only a happy, contented maker can make jewellery that carries the same happy energy.
For now, we work with lab-grown stones. Tell us the kind of stone you'd like and we'll confirm the look with you before anything is set. Lab-grown stones are kinder on price, more ethical and better for the environment. We don't take natural-stone commissions for the time being.
For now we design rings only — but we'll be adding more to choose from over time.
Past commissions
Every story ring is designed for a single person, from something that actually happened. Here is where finished commissions live — we add each one as it leaves the bench.
