What is LuAG/YAG?

LuAG and YAG are both lab-created fluorescent gemstones originally developed from advanced optical materials. They share a similar synthetic garnet structure and both can show a yellow-green glow under UV light, but their composition is different: YAG is made with yttrium, while LuAG uses lutetium, a rarer and denser rare-earth element. This difference is one of the reasons LuAG is usually more expensive to produce, and also why its fluorescence can appear richer and more vivid.

In natural light, both LuAG and YAG show a soft yellow-green sparkle, small in size but surprisingly distinctive. Their glow comes from fluorescence, not harmful radiation. Because sunlight also contains UV rays, they can reveal a neon-green glow not only under a UV lamp, but also in everyday lighting moments.
